Orioles Knock Red Sox Out of Wildcard Race!
The Orioles became the king spoilers last night by beating the Boston Red Sox. Although the Orioles are in dead last, it did not stop them from spoiling the playoff dreams of the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox were in a tight race with the Tampa Bay Rays for the wild card spot, but the Orioles ended Boston's hopes by beating them 4 to 3.

Mike Flanagan Remembered
Many were shocked last week with the news of Mike Flanagan's death. Even more shocking was the news that it appeared to be an apparent suicide. I remember Mike Flanagan most as a kid, watching him pitch for the Orioles in the 1979 World Series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Mike Flanagan will remembered as a true Baltimore Oriole and one of the best pitchers in Orioles history. I pray for his family in their time of grief.

Orioles Bounce Back Against Blue Jays
After giving up a grand slam in game one of the series, the Orioles bounced back in game two of the series and got a grand slam of their own. Mark Reynolds' bat finally came to life as he hit a homer with bases loaded to give the Orioles a 5 to 3 lead. It was Mark Reynolds' first career grand slam. Jake Arrieta got the win and Kevin Gregg closed the door and got the save.
On another note, it was good to have Derrek Lee back at first base.
Final Score: Orioles 5 Blue Jays 3
